Strava Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The opportunity for a bonus if we hit the plan of record; and RSUs. They both keep me very personally invested in our success.

The health insurance is great

Review from Finance Dept

I have a great salary and our health benefits covered the full cost of my first child.

Review from Product Dept

Fully paid healthcare coverage for my family.

Review from Legal Dept

Base salary feels pretty good

Review from HR Dept

vision & dental. level is awesome

Fully paid health benefits with good insurance, particularly dental and vision.

Review from Engineering Dept

competitive salary, wide range of benefits, unlimited PTO (even though not enough people feel comfortable taking it, including myself)

Review from Marketing Dept

Salary and healthcare are great (even if the geography-based ranges are arbitrary and unfair). Thank you!

Review from Finance Dept

Benefits all at no cost

Review from Finance Dept

Having a strong base salary is very important. The gear and events stipend feels very generous, and there is no stigma around using your learning stipend (or any of the other ones). Using your benefits is encouraged. Also it is easy to use/ understand all the benefits

Review from Engineering Dept

Base compensation is, in my opinion, well considered. Stock grants are great, but I prefer the sure-ness of dollars over the risk of the stock of a private company

Review from Engineering Dept

I appreciate some of the smaller stipends such as gear and personal development.

The benefits that focus on health and wellbeing

Review from Engineering Dept

The different stripends are very good to encourage me to lead a more active life.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Fully covered insurance premiums are the best

Review from Engineering Dept

salary, 100% health premium, stipends

Review from Finance Dept

Salary is the best part

Review from Engineering Dept

Overall salary and gear and events stipend

Review from Business Development Dept

Topic aligned benefits like gear stipends. Hope we get some health insurance addons for Europe.

Review from Engineering Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The salary is fair but the stock wont be liquid for a very long time, if ever, which makes total comp feel low compared to other companies.

Review from Engineering Dept

I believe benefits should be better and not center in one location. At the same we had some other benefits that were removed because a group of people did not know how to manage them or they took advance and now because of a group doing something wrong the whole company suffered.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Better pay transparency tied to titles/rolls across the company - would be awesome if Strava was leading transparency in this regard in a way not seen in the tech industry / employment world. More clarity around how compensation is leveled based on where you live and what office you report to.

Review from Product Dept

Raises that match or exceed inflation, salaries that match or exceed the competition.

Review from Engineering Dept

The salary is fair but the stock wont be liquid for a very long time, if ever, which makes total comp feel low compared to other companies.

Review from Engineering Dept

I think I was hired with the junior developer’s salary, but for a while now I’ve been working as a seni

Review from Engineering Dept

I don't feel that I get the verbal, written, or monetary recognition I deserve for the work I've done here. I've been the only constant one on my team while others have come and gone. I would feel more appreciated/supported with a raise and/or promotion.

Review from HR Dept

-Promos need to line up with peers. Seems like hard work isn't rewarded for the sake of equality which isn't very equitable in my opinion -% bumps are under industry standard. 3-8% rather than 10 - 20% -Getting raises in response to the work that I do unrelated to my peers would make me feel valued

Review from Engineering Dept

I don't think the title is well calibrated. I have met a handful of coworkers who, after working together for a while, I think have inflated title levels compared to myself, both in my own org (Eng) and other orgs. I feel I'm lowballed

Strava's Analytics team is mislabeled, our counterparts in other places are usually listed as Product Data Scientists. By calling us analysts, it allows Strava to underpay us, since Data Science roles come with 20-40% in additional base comp.

Compensated in line with industry i.e. including better 401k matching, opportunities for mid-year raises (without or without a title change)

Review from Business Development Dept

salary is a joke, you can find up to 30% more anywhere else. Keep looking, know your value.

Review from Engineering Dept

I have not been promoted in many, many years and rarely receive any form of recognition for my work. I am burn out and am having a mental breakdown that no amount of free mental health resources from the company will help alleviate - the company is causing the anxiety in the first place.

Review from Engineering Dept

The market is competitive and while the attraction to join the company is strong, compensation is not the highest among peer orgs.

Review from Marketing Dept

As a non-engineer I know I don't make as much as an Eng Manager who has less career and management experience.

Review from Design Dept

Be paid fairly on market rate and tenure

Review from Customer Support Dept

Salaries are coming in line with other companies
