What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

The majority of the team are strong leaders with a clear vision for our future; but they're also real, empathic people which contributes to stronger leadership than intelligence and vision alone.

They care out the employees on a personal level

Review from Finance Dept

Transparency, friendliness, excitement, drive, approachability.

Review from Product Dept

This could be improved - but visiting teammates outside of the US to get feedback on how European team are feeling Being their true authentic selves Clarity on who is in the Leadership Team, M-Team, Compass Team - after all the changes would be helpful

Review from Marketing Dept

Accessibility for open communication with the them directly.

Review from Design Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Set out a compelling vision and then stay on message for long periods of time. Not changing your mind every five seconds. Make better top level hires.

Review from Engineering Dept

Embracing the core business and what has made Strava successful, and playing to win with big bets in that area rather than chasing scattershot attempts at increasing total addressable market.

Review from Engineering Dept

Being on the same page with one another, having a goal(s) that makes sense for the business that will help profitability, being transparent, taking accountability for + learning from actions/mistakes, not blaming others, listening to + responding to feedback rather than explaining away situations.

Review from Engineering Dept

Clearer articulation of a product & business strategy Senior leaders pulling in different directions Large disconnect between what we publicly praise and what makes meaningful impact on the business and our athletes

Review from Finance Dept

Communicating intentionally and in a timely minor

Review from Engineering Dept

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

The opportunity for a bonus if we hit the plan of record; and RSUs. They both keep me very personally invested in our success.

The health insurance is great

Review from Finance Dept

I have a great salary and our health benefits covered the full cost of my first child.

Review from Product Dept

Fully paid healthcare coverage for my family.

Review from Legal Dept

Base salary feels pretty good

Review from HR Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

The salary is fair but the stock wont be liquid for a very long time, if ever, which makes total comp feel low compared to other companies.

Review from Engineering Dept

I believe benefits should be better and not center in one location. At the same we had some other benefits that were removed because a group of people did not know how to manage them or they took advance and now because of a group doing something wrong the whole company suffered.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Better pay transparency tied to titles/rolls across the company - would be awesome if Strava was leading transparency in this regard in a way not seen in the tech industry / employment world. More clarity around how compensation is leveled based on where you live and what office you report to.

Review from Product Dept

Raises that match or exceed inflation, salaries that match or exceed the competition.

Review from Engineering Dept

The salary is fair but the stock wont be liquid for a very long time, if ever, which makes total comp feel low compared to other companies.

Review from Engineering Dept

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

Hard-working, excellent at executing, passionate and FUN

Team is very collaborative and nice

Review from Finance Dept

Flexible, nimble, friendly, and open to new ideas.

Review from Product Dept

Smart, talented people Great energy Want to do a good work and keep innovating

Review from Marketing Dept

We are a diverse group.

Review from Legal Dept

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

I feel increasingly disconnected from coworkers due to remote work and only interacting for specific meetings/purposes

Review from Finance Dept

We overindex on hiring athletes

Review from Engineering Dept

Everyone is too indivisualistic. People are very competitive.

Review from Engineering Dept

Giving and receiving kind feedback needs a ton of work. We have too much backchanneling and "niceness" where people don't voice what they think to the appropriate parties. Further, maturity in product decision making needs a ton of work and connecting to what's valueable for the athlete.

Review from Design Dept

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

The ERGs make everyone feel like they belong! And I love our ABCs.

I love the the camaraderie aspect and how we all band together for WoWs. The energy around fitness is so fun!

Review from Engineering Dept

Focus on personal and mental health

Review from Finance Dept

I love the focus on being active, people take work breaks for runs, swims, bike rides - there is nothing more healthy than that as far as culture goes!

Review from Product Dept

We strive to be a people first company and major emphasis is given to our health and wellness.

Review from Legal Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

Supporting employees to work on things that they're passionate about with more autonomy and risk-taking, and cutting away the red tape, bureaucracy, and extremely status-quo-reinforcing leadership culture that has led to Strava Speed.

Review from Engineering Dept

More time for preparation, especially for international tasks.

Review from Marketing Dept

old culture is gone, company is trying to redefine what's "cool", but benefits and budgets are outdated

Review from Engineering Dept

Immediately stop letting marketing have any control over engineering. They are making absurd demands and causing major disruptions. Don't staff brand new teams with junior engineers to work on the most important feature releases. Own the fact that the reorg is basically indecipherable.

Review from Engineering Dept

What did you like most about the interview process?

Interviews Reviews

The opportunity to meet people from a wide variety of roles within the company

Review from Engineering Dept

The people I met made me more and more interested in the company and made me excited to potentially work with them as a peer.

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

working with so many badass women

Collaborating with peers who are excited about the job

Review from Finance Dept

Knowing people are moving all around the world to earn their map on our app

Review from Product Dept

Getting involved in a project.

Review from Legal Dept

Ability to make an impact in peoples lives and livelihoods. Getting things done, being left alone to do my work and not being in a ton of meetings, when people want to work with me to help move things forward. My flexibility and autonomy.

Review from HR Dept

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

Recent events and the leadership style of recent hires (rule by fear) has prople focusing on jockeying for position/leadership approval instead of getting the work done and collaborating

Review from Marketing Dept

Some benefits were removed from us do to some small group not following the "rules" (example: light- Friday, work location) Why the whole company needed to be impacted if s small group was the issue? Should the company address the situation with them instead?

Review from Customer Support Dept

I don't feel engaged with my team and I feel like I'm not utilized in a way that makes sense given my interests *or* the company's business priorities.

Review from Engineering Dept

We've had poor engagement results + company performance for many months/years with constant messages from leadership that either nothing is wrong or it's ICs faults. This becomes demoralizing over time. I think accountability and better decision making from leadership is needed to improve things.

Review from Engineering Dept

It's kind of chaotic, and priorities shift a lot. The design team is asked to do way too much at a given time and therefore we're always playing catchup or unable to focus on anything and give it the quality thought it deserves.
