How flexible is your work schedule at Sumo Logic?
VERY flexible.
What's the work from home policy like at Sumo Logic?
In Engineering it is 1 day per week for most of the team.
What's the internship program like at Sumo Logic?
I came to Sumo Logic as an Intern. It was a really great experience from the first contact with a recruiter to the focus on learning through the internship.
How does Sumo Logic handle HR issues?
Seems to be a really good team. They demonstrate and live the values of the company.
How innovative is Sumo Logic?
I work in Engineering and believe there is a lot of effort put into new concepts and ideas. an example would be the quarterly hackathons for engineers to submit prototypes/ideas that are then incorporated into the platform.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Sumo Logic?
Depends on the department you work in. Overall a 45 - 50hr week is the norm
What part of Sumo Logic's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Sales are rapidly growing Huge focus on expanding product features and functionality through technical alliances and integration, as well as widening of the platform into a SIEM like offering. Growing quickly and seems there are challenges in finding the right talent
Does Sumo Logic drug test or do a background check?
No, only a traditional employment and education verification + criminal background checks are conducted.
How's the morale at Sumo Logic?
Mixed morale after some key engineers left, but frantically trying to grow the team
What's the Engineering team like at Sumo Logic?
Lots of smart people; sometimes gets a little competitive
How's the leadership on the Engineering team at Sumo Logic?
Not impressed with the leadership due to lack of focus. Only seem to jump from one vision to the next.
What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Sumo Logic? How many hours are you working?
Decent work-life balance, with the exception of fighting fires when on-call. But it's been getting better.
How's the work life balance at Sumo Logic?
Surprisingly good. Some departments have more work than others, however, management seem to be pretty doggish about employees understanding the need for a work/life balance. Typical start-up fashion though, it is tough to maintain consistently due to stretched resources.
Does Sumo Logic have any remote positions?
Field Sales, Sales Engineering and other customer-facing professional services roles are remote. All others are based at Sumo Logic facilities
How does Sumo Logic make decisions around promotions?
Meritocracy embraced to the core.
