How employees describe working at Sun Basket

Customer service AND providing organic meals like they CLAIM

Totally incompentent. I changed my addess in the app over a month ago and for the past 4 weeks the deliveries went to my old address. Each time I talked to customer service who said that I would be refunded and that it was fixed. Wrong on both. Dont waste your time or money.

The Organic, fresh, clean ingredients. Delicious sauces. Best I have had.

The website is difficult to navigate and I can't ever see my order history. Also, my produce is rotten or has been frozen and thawed (ruining it completely) over 90% of my deliveries, so I buy produce at the grocery store to supplement, making these meals very expensive.

Mismanaged Company. They will be out of business if nothing changes.

A tremendous amount. It’s one of the few positives they currently have going for them.

  • Both hourly and salaried staff are very divers on the west coast.

For most managers it’s often very hard. The operations managers and GMs seem to have plenty of time away from the facility though.

  • Anything below the level of operations manager can be very difficult. All lower management than that are often expected to work 10-15 hour days as well as their staff, and be available 24/7. The operations manager and general manager’s reaction to employees and junior to mid-level management working those hours for extended periods of time(weeks to months) is “well, this is production.” They do not participate in such long days. It doesn’t inspire people to follow.

  • Pretty casual. In operations its extremely laid back (closed toed shoes/pants required) but for the rest its casual to business casual. I only ever saw suits when we were ringing the bell on NASDAQ

I would give the staff, associate to managers, clear pathways ahead in their careers. I would also expect higher levels of accountability and excellence from leadership

Not very. The culture permits senior managers to accomplish very little, while openly undercutting middle and junior management as a substation for adding value of their own.
