What do you like best about the leadership team?

Transparency. They're always straightforward and have nothing to hide. They make it easy for people to ask questions and make you feel comfortable.

The leadership team is transparent, values input from everyone, and is amazing at making themselves available should we want to discuss anything.

Transparency is key, they're very open.

Tech Elevator's leadership sets the team up for success. This is very refreshing!

Vetting the effectiveness of systems and strategies before heavily investing in them. Listening to ideas from others and not dismissing them as different or wrong. Respecting the organization's values and focus.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Excellent health insurance and a bonus program that rewards employees for the success of students.

We have quite a few vacation days.

Most PTO I've ever gotten. The 401k company provides some low-fee Vanguard funds which I didn't expect to see.

As a former educator, my favorite part of my compensation package is the compensation itself-- this is the first time I feel like I have been paid my worth and been paid appropriately for the work I do.

My base pay. It's not amazing, but it's not terrible.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Base salary is much lower compared to other companies, especially for how hard everyone works. There are a lot of people within the company who wear multiple hats and work late hours to ensure things get completed.

Working 24/7 and being paid below market value is not ok for the work we do.

PTO use is discouraged most of the year, doesn't roll over or pay out at the end of the year, and the company schedules mandatory events and trainings during times when people otherwise would use it.

It isn't okay to use vacation most of the year. Vacation goes away if you don't use it by the end of the year. Management puts a lot of mandatory things during times when people would take vacations.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Supportive, engaged, and they all care a lot. Always willing to help and share best practices

My team is amazing. We all care about the mission of the company and are excited when we have an opportunity to collaborate.

We are all a family and are always looking out for each other. We work together, helpful each other out, share ideas, and enjoy each other's company too.

We have a culture of equality.

My team members care about what they do and the students they do it for.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Supportive and transparent, recognition. Relatively casual.

The team - the people I work with at Tech Elevator are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with in my career.

The excitement and dedication everyone brings every day about making a huge difference in people's lives. The environment is accepting of all and there is a real emphasis on making sure underrepresented communities are part of the team.

Probably transparency, but that transparency feels like propaganda at times with only very selective positive information shared.

Being able to see students transform their lives and enjoy success as software developers.

What did you like most about the interview process?

I had an opportunity to meet with various stakeholders to get an overall feel for the team and it gave me an opportunity to ask a lot of questions.

There were many different folks involved in the interview process and everyone was very engaged in making sure it was a good fit all around.

I appreciated the speed with which I was communicated during my interview process. I felt like I was always in the loop of my status and my emails/questions were always quickly addressed.

The people were able to give me their honest opinions about the organization and the difficulties of the job before I joined.

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

Working with others, making improvements, getting strategic.

Getting to see my coworkers in person and having opportunities to work together.

The interactions with students as a mentor and seeing them land those jobs they all want so much.

Student impact makes my day!

Working alongside my peers/coworkers as well as interacting with the students we serve make me the happiest in my work. I love the people-centered, human-centric approach of Tech Elevator.

What do you like best about your company?

The quality of education we're still able to give the students.

The company culture is top-notch! I love getting up every morning and going to my job where I work with confident, competent, and kind people.

What would you most like to see improved at your company?

Outlook Reviews

I'd like to really feel like they appreciate us genuinely as people and the incredible work we do. I'd like to see them listen to us when we bring problems forward and involve us in solving them.

I would like a simpler bonus structure. The structure currently in place is OK, but kind of convoluted and can get very confusing.
