Mr. John A. Williams, also known as Jack, has been the President of Digital Ventures at TEGNA Inc. since January 2008. Mr. Williams oversees all digital portfolio, including Cars.com, CareerBuilder and G/O Digital and is also responsible for the development and implementation of online strategies, partnerships and investment initiatives across all of TEGNA's digital platforms. He served as Senior Vice President of Diversified Business & Development of TEGNA Inc. for the Newspaper Division since April 2003. He is a 10 year Veteran of Gannett. He was responsible for the Army Times Publishing Co., Nursing Spectrum and Gannett Media Technologies. He joined Gannett in 1995 as Vice President of Business Development for the Newspaper Division. He served as the President of Gannett Digital of TEGNA Inc. from January 12, 2006 to December 2007. He served as an Executive Vice President of The Seattle Times Co. Inc. since 1989. He served as General Manager of the Modesto Bee of The McClatchy Company since 1980. He started his career with the Harte-Hanks organization. He serves as a Director of Classified Ventures, MetroMix, quadrantONE, Ongo, Topix, Wanderful Media, Imaginova Corp., CareerBuilder Inc. and HomeFinder.com, LLC. Mr. Williams is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Degree in Business Administration.
