Teleport has been the most 'grown up' company with the best work life balance in my career. We move very deliberately and the experience of the founders and leaders really shows. I felt very respected from the very start in my interviews with the founders. I feel empowered to make change.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
This is the founders 2nd start up and it shows. They are confident and experienced but without hubris and are open to feedback and admiring mistakes. I feel very respected and empowered here.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is experienced and unafraid to make suggestions on how to do things best. We are a small but very effective team. We work differently without bureaucracy or hoops to jump through.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I love our values, working slow, writing things down and being grown ups. It's such an anti-thesis to the move fast and break things culture of SF. Its such a more family friendly company that really respects us.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I felt so respected during my interview after feeling so disrespected by so many companies. Teleport really respected my time and treated me like an expert that knows something they want to learn rather than grilling me and making me prove I know things.
What makes you most happy at work?
I get to build the best solutions rather than just slapping more duct-tape on and growing a mountain of tech debt. The values around thinking slow really allow more time for research, deliberation, consensus building and deep though rather than the frantic myopic deadline focus of many start ups.
