David Sharma — Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice-President of Procurement & Supply Chain Management at TELUS Corporation

Mr. David Sharma serves as Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice-President , Procurement and Supply Chain Management at TELUS Corporation. Mr. Sharma is responsible for enterprise-wide supply management. He supports significant procurement transformation efforts by delivering best-in-class procurement and supply practices, policies, processes, and technology in collaboration with internal and external partners, designed to obtain better value for money (VFM). Prior to this appointment, he held the role of senior vice-president, TELUS Business Solutions Marketing. He expanded mandate included the market leadership for TELUS enterprise, small and medium business and wholesale business markets - generating $4 billion in annual wireless and wireline revenue for TELUS. He served as the President of Telus Global Markets at Telus Corporation. Since joining TELUS in 1999, he has held a number of senior roles including president of TELUS Partner Solutions, leading a team across North America to provide innovative solutions to telecommunication providers across Canada, the U.S. and internationally. Overseeing sales, marketing, procurement and operations, he has advanced TELUS' leadership position as Canada's IP leader and as the trusted partner of choice in the global wholesale market. Additionally, he served as vice-president of global sales for TELUS Partner Solutions and vice-president of sales and operations for TELUS Advanced Communications. He was instrumental in transforming TELUS from a regional telephone company into a leading national and international communications provider. Consistent with the TELUS values, he champions TELUS' goal to become Canada's premier corporate citizen as a Team TELUS Cares prime for the Greater Toronto Area and as a proud founding member of the TELUS Toronto Community board directing more than $2.6 million in funding toward grassroots community initiatives. Mr. Sharma served as a Director at Canarie Inc. from 2005 to 2009. He has been a guest speaker on the international telecom stage sharing his vision of collaboration to drive future growth in the industry. In 2009, he was recognized as one of Global Telecom Business Magazine's Top 40 Under 40. He received a Bachelor of Mathematics in Information Systems from the University of Waterloo in 1995, graduating with an honours cooperative degree.
