Ms. Monique Mercier has been an Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at TELUS Corporation since 2011 and serves its Chief Legal & Governance Officer. Ms. Mercier serves as a Vice President of Legal Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer at TELUS Communications in Qu??bec. She served as Senior Vice President of TELUS Corporation. She served as Vice President of TELUS Corporation. She joined Emergis Inc. and served as its Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in May 1999 and served as its Executive Vice President of Law & Human Resources since November 2004 and its Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs. Before 2008, she was in charge of the Human Resources for Emergis and Secretary of the Board of Directors. Prior to Emergis, she served as a General Counsel and Chief of Legal Affairs at Bell Canada International Inc. From 1989 to May 1999, she served various senior positions within BCE Inc. in corporate and securities laws, mergers and acquisitions and financings. Prior to 1989, she was a Tax Lawyer with the Canadian firm of Stikeman Elliot. She has been an Independent Director of Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. since October 1, 2015. She served as the Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Corporate Secretary of TELUS Corporation. Ms. Mercier served as a Director of Societe Generale de Financement du Quebec June 12, 2006 to 2010. She served as an Independent Director of Stornoway Diamond Corporation since July 20, 2011 until October 19, 2015.She is the President of the Advisory Board of the Law Faculty of the University of Montreal, Co-President Fundraising Campaign for Fondation Jean Lapointe, Member of the Executive Committee of Association of Canadian General Counsel and Member of the Board of Les ??ditions du Passage. She participates on the Management Committee of the L.R. Wilson Chair in Information Technology and E-Commerce Law at the University of Montreal. She is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including the Commonwealth Scholarship from 1979 to 1982 and the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002. Ms. Mercier is a graduate of the Universit?? de Montr??al law school and holds a Master's degree in Politics (M. Phil.) from Oxford University, England.
