I learned a lot about networking, troubleshooting, and how the internet works. It was good to learn all those things. Also, I had the satisfaction of helping people get their phones, televisions, and internet working. It feels good to help people.

There was a great deal of diversity in the company. So it's hard to say. I have heard of people from work getting together to go out for drinks or for bowling.

There isn't a lot of opportunity to move up in the company unless you stay with the company for a very long time. Expect to be there at least 3 years before you can become anything more than just a phone drone.

It's important to know how to deescalate conflict when you're working with customers on the phone. If you can do that it will improve your handle time which is a very important metric. Good metrics are rewarded.

I never had a problem getting time off when I needed it.

When I interviewed I was hired the same day.

I'm afraid that promotion is really not something that you can expect to happen.

Not long. It seems like Telvista is almost always hiring. I have heard of some people being contacted within a few minutes of submitting an online application. Usually they are in touch with in a week.

TelVista does a drug test and a background check at the time of hiring. Their new hire material says that they may do random drug tests at any time, however, I have never heard of any employee being drug tested after being hired.

If I could find a job that paid as much but was much closer to home, or if I could find a job that paid $1.00 per hour more.

I think most people here manage it.

Fixing a customer's problem and making a phone get dial tone or a router connect to the internet feels pretty good.

Many people get fired for performance issues or quit outright. I have never heard of anyone getting laid off.

Sometimes you get periodic feedback and other times you don't hear anything back for months.

You have to be very patient and a fast-learner.

If you have a high school diploma, know how to use a computer, and can pass a UA the job is pretty much a given.

They fire people all the time. I'm always worried that I'm next.

If we can't fix our retention issues, I'd give it another year.
