Executive Bio
Dr. Octavio Diaz, also known as Tavi, M.D. has been the Chief Medical Officer at Tenet Healthcare Corp. since December 1, 2016. Dr. Diaz is responsible for Tenet's efforts to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided throughout its network of 79 hospitals and affiliated facilities. With nearly three decades of clinical experience and 16 years of executive healthcare leadership, he builds on Tenet's foundation of improving clinical outcomes and enhancing medical staff collaboration. Dr. Diaz serves as the CMO for Tenet's Florida and Northeast Regions, which includes 19 acute care hospitals, along with the affiliated outpatient facilities and freestanding emergency and urgent care centers across four states. He began his career with Tenet in 2004 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, first as Chief of the Emergency Department. Dr. Diaz is board-certified in emergency medicine and received his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He holds Master of Public Health degree from Boston University. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and is licensed in Massachusetts.
