Textron Systems Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

I appreciate the open lines of communication and the all hands on deck approach.

Review from HR Dept

I love what I do in regards to job duties but that's it.

Review from Finance Dept

The way it supports the Textron way of being customer focused.

Review from Legal Dept

the availability of people to help when needed along with team gatherings one in a while to boost morale

Review from Finance Dept

There is a culture of respect at Textron Systems.

Review from Admin Dept

You can find help where you need it

Review from Operations Dept

The culture and environment of the company are that people do care about their job and about their lives. Even when people complain about a boss or a challenging task, they will be able to pivot and convert some of that energy to efforts toward fighting to make the situation better.

Review from Operations Dept

LOL nothing the blatant favoritism and lake of supervision is a joke

Review from Operations Dept

I like how we try to have biweekly quick tag ups where we take 15 mins to play a game or do something to get to know each other.

Review from Finance Dept

the wins create a positive culture

Review from HR Dept

Team effort to accomplish the mission. Work hard when we need to an enjoy down time when we can

Review from Operations Dept

The people are all genuinely good and care. The leadership is very vested in making sure we have a positive culture.

There is a culture of respect. I also think that the environment I have been in is really full of visionaries with amazing ideas about how to make this place the best it can be and actually implementing those ideas.

Review from HR Dept

it feels like everyone is working towards the same goal

Review from HR Dept

I like to think everyone is very helpful and resourceful

Review from HR Dept

9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. Everyone has an open door policy it is so easy to talk to leaders or anyone really

Review from HR Dept

the people and learning capacity

Review from HR Dept

I am grateful for the amount of creative control I have and I appreciate this responsibility.

Review from Finance Dept

The fact that everyone is different but willing to come together to accomplish the same thing as a team

Review from HR Dept

What we work on & who it supports.

Review from Operations Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Start with leadership, instill value and appreciation by achievements and inhouse perks. More training.

Review from Operations Dept

Using personality tests to assist with staffing teams could go a long way in increasing team morale.

Review from Engineering Dept

TOO NEW TO THE COMPANY TO EVEN ANSWER

Review from Product Dept

Culture is not the problem, incompetence of our product/process (or lack thereof) at the Director level and thru the CEO is. It is like saying Enron had a culture problem. . . . no, the core business model was flawed, and no amount of 'culture' could save it.

Review from Engineering Dept

More alignment with COVID strategies from the top down to the employee level. More acknowledgement of hardships faced over the last 2 years and especially for those we have lost from COVID. Better recreation activities sponsored by the company like picnics

Review from Customer Support Dept

Coworkers need to be more positive and work together more. The negativity needs to stop in order for the culture to be better.

Review from Operations Dept

more cooperation among departments and people understanding that certain projects or ideas will take time to mature and manifest before they can be properly analyzed for their cost/benefit analysis. too many things are written off if they don't work immediately

Review from Operations Dept

They need to make sure that the correct people are in the correct positions to advance not only the company but the team and individuals as well.

Review from Finance Dept

Refocus from attributing blame to finding solutions. Change from continually rewarding the Chosen Few to rewarding those actually making a difference. Change from a siloed organization to a more inclusive, diverse, team based one. Less "us and them" and more "we"

Review from Product Dept

Improved communication and better decision making would improve culture.

Review from Operations Dept

Encourage people to actually have conversations that aren't about work all the time. Maybe pay for some pizza for the team every now and then...make us laugh and make us feel like we are valuable. I have never felt so replaceable in my life. I can't be myself because I'm afraid of being judged.

Review from Operations Dept

management needs to hold people accountable and make them do work. I don't think my manager has an idea of what his employees do and how long they actually spend doing it

Review from Customer Support Dept

Increase the interaction between coworkers beyond daily tasks

Review from Engineering Dept

Work from home policy. The company responded to covid very poorly and I'm not surprised employees left

Review from Engineering Dept

Involve employees more in large decisions. We say we do, but we don't. Example: all decision making around covid was done in a total vacuum.

Review from Engineering Dept

true investment/care towards inclusion and culture among employees. we do things just to say we did them or we tried

Review from HR Dept

Mangers have the final say. they should still be more open to various points of view. Co policy states the openness, in practice not very much.

Review from Operations Dept

Certain organizations are too lean, putting pressure on employee morale. There is no time to learn and be curious. New hires are dumped on. a Work From Home option would also be nice.

Review from Finance Dept

Management needs to re-evaluate its resistance to allowing hybrid work. Many departments have already proved that it works for them, and ELT's resistance has made me worried about our company's ability to attract future talent with this outdated philosophy.

Review from Finance Dept

Leadership that interacts with the team more often than at quarterly all-hands and at gate reviews/MPSRs.
