Being part of the public sector, there is a genuine respect for leaders and a way they are expected to act and lead the company. There are very clear lines of delegated authority which ensures decisions are fair. There is also gender diversity among the leadership team.

Being the public sector, we don't get anything apart from our salary. While private sector companies look to provide additional perks to retain and engage employees, we have to pay for our own Christmas parties and morning teas. At times it feels stingy.
we go to work in the worst of weather conditions, and the most difficult of emergencies time and time again, and keep doing it
Our team is highly skilled and people are genuinely nice.

Being productive and making a difference. Seeing my ideas being discussed and getting implemented gives me those warm, fuzzy feelings.

Employment feels secure. I feel that if I do a good job there will always be a job for me. it also feels like the majority of employees are doing their best and want to be there.
We need to develop our people to improve our leadership and management competencies and recognise that these are two very different things.
