U.S. Legal Support Employee Reviews | Comparably
U.S. Legal Support Claimed Company
U.S. Legal Support was founded in 1996 based on a single, somewhat audacious goal: become the first nationwide, all-inclusive litigation support company. Over two decades later, we have over 1,000 employees, a network of nearly 5,000 independent court reporting professionals and can provide on-demand access to more than 12,000 offices in over 2,700 cities across the country. We cover more than 350,000 depositions each year and retrieve more than 400,000 records. To date, we’ve acquired over 25 companies — 15 in a 3-year period alone. In light of those accomplishments, below is what we’d say about our original goal. read more

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Investing in employees Listening to issues from those who deal with them daily

Review from Operations Dept

Taking into consideration, the changes requested by their employees.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Understanding what happens on the ground. Numbers a re a huge portion but understanding them is just as important.

Review from Operations Dept

Communication and retaining good employees

Review from Admin Dept

Communication. Jimmie needs to understand what drives the front line workers vs what drives the managers. Also, what are our goals and what makes USL better than our competition?

Review from Customer Support Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Undervalued from a salary perspective, but valued from the team.

Review from Operations Dept

Although I love what I do, I am undercompensated for the role I am in. When an employee works tirelessly with determination and drive, and exceeds expectations on a consistent basis, they should be recognized for those efforts and compensated accordingly.

Review from Operations Dept

I feel my leadership team values me. I do feel the company as a whole does undervalue operations vs Sales. I would like to see ops leadership to have yearly meetings. It would be nice to meet in person some of the people we have worked with day in and out the last couple years since we centralized.

Review from Operations Dept

Constantly making cuts and letting employees go who are perceived to have more knowledge and value than others. This Company asks for corporate culture but wants to present small mom-and-pop experiences to clients. Both do not work.

Review from Operations Dept

wages are not adequate versus the workload, responsibility and tenure

Review from Operations Dept

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

Most Co-workers are great and issues are not a product of them but a product of the systems built around them which they must abide by. Goes for everyone.

Review from Operations Dept

Some of the people who have been at USLS longer are very rude and unkind to the newbies.

Review from Customer Support Dept

IT isn't an issue of team work, it is the fact that so many of the employees are here to do the bare minimum and collect their pay check. When people don't care about what they do, it shows in their work performance. These people then create a lot more work for the employees who care and work hard

Review from Operations Dept

My coworkers ask for advice on how to create a better plan to get their work complete, but when I provide the plan they do not follow it. And then come back to me and complain about the results they get from following their previous plan, that they stated did not work for them, in the first place.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Coworkers need to be more considerate.

Review from Customer Support Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

Clearly communicated expectations. I feel like everyone is expected to go above and beyond expectations in order to make clients happy. If you build a healthy organization, doing your job at a high level should make clients happy.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

Seems decisions are made in more of a business mindset (numbers only) when they should be made with more of a court reporting mindset. I do not feel as though the ones making the big decisions have a good understanding of what issues we experience. Investment into reporters would help first.

Review from Operations Dept

Too few employees in some departments, creating too much work for others. It would be nice if every department was manned to properly handle the work load.

Review from Operations Dept

Management should take into consideration the difficulties that it takes to complete our work, instead of treating us as if we are incompent

Review from Customer Support Dept

More focus on the department. It can be improved by actually listening to issues and just attempting to solve them rather than sweeping them under the rug and pushing employees to the brink.

Review from Operations Dept

There is a loose standard of service. We preach standards and streamlining till a client complains and then we build work-arounds. I wish we could stand by our product and push back against clients, but we're told we will lose business and the company/sales can't have that. Also, SPOT is a mess.
