good compan to work for

UCB has great employees. Belgium and the US division need to cut ties because they cannot understand why the US operates the way it does.

The compamy and colleabues arent bad but the culture here isnt as friendly as other companies within this space. They also dont offer things like stock units or options unless you work for a specific TA

It is a good workplace but you will never be promoted unless you know the "right" people. The company is fair in financial terms, treats employees in a really good way but unfortunately has allowed some of them to form their own groups and decide based on their own interests rather than meritocracy.

Great company as far as environment and benefits are concerned. Unfortunately, there is no meritocracy within the company. Roles are given away to friends and allies, instead to people who deserve them. It's common to see inexperienced people in command of people that have deep knowledge and skills.

Most of the leadership is supportive and gets it. They understand the need to take care of their people.

They need to be fair when it comes to opportunities. I have witnessed a few times, roles being given to "friends" without even typically doing a process between applicants. The HR does absolutely nothing about all this. On the contrary, I think they take advantage of the situation for themselves.

For where I live, I am well paid and the benefits are fair. Too bad the taxes are so high and I don't actually get my money, but of course that is not the company's fault.

There's a relatively good health insurance, bonuses, pension plan, ticket restaurant card and decent company car.

We get a fair compensation package overall.

They are bringing in other reps at higher salaries than they pay loyal employees. Belgium doesn't understand the need for a pay raise in the US.

No stock options or units for individuals working in the field unless your in a specific TA

In my department, we have a friendly relationship and help each other. We work as a team and decide together. That said, I know that in other teams, things are not nearly as good.

High level people, good at their job and experienced. I 'd say the best thing is that there's effective communication and help between us in most cases.
