Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team is approachable but very focused on the goals of their department and the company. It's helpful to have managers that are willing to work alongside you and care about the rest of their team.
They don't micromanage and they give us a lot of autonomy. They understand that we're a small team and each of us wear a lot of different hats and that to be nimble and pivot, requires a lot of trust to do our jobs and excel in them.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
The company pays for 90% of our healthcare/dental/vision which is incredible - especially for the good coverage that we have. I also believe the pay is very competitive for our industry and our market.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Stock options would be great!
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our team is passionate about their work, the environment, and having fun. It makes for a great atmosphere to work in.
They understand that we're a quick moving team but that we're each experts in our field and that rather than getting in arguments, we'll defer to the expertise of the individual, even at the CEO level down to the newest employee.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The office culture is very laid back. There are clear goals and focus, but still room for a fun environment where we have dogs in the office and flexible start/end hours.
Like I mentioned, the autonomy and lack of micro-management. We have a lot of freedom and flexibility.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?

What did you like most about the interview process?
The interview process was very competitive, but the interviewers made me feel welcomed and not intimidated during the in-person portion of the process.
We had to do a project, they were very straightforward, it was competitive.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?

What makes you most happy at work?
I'm always happy to go to work at United By Blue because I know that our mission is having a real impact on the environment. To work at a fast-growing, for-profit company that has removed over a million pounds of trash from the ocean is pretty inspiring.
I get to do what I love with a really skilled team.
