UT Health San Antonio Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

Their leadership and clear vision for the institution is selfless and aligns with making lives better

provide the autonomy to do my job and trust me to do it well

They are thoughtful and flexible.

availability; caring, friendliness, gratefulness, success

Our leaders seem to be mission-driven and invested in the community

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

They need to be on board with increasing the salaries of the staff employees. The staff are basically who keep the faculty where they need to be., The staff are not appreciated by most of the higher ups.

Employee focus. Has lost sight. Tunnel vision has blurred the big picture.

Hiring competent division leaders. Listening to (and caring about) employee concerns. Offering proactive solutions for demoralized and understaffed divisions. Offer clear paths for promotion and raises. Making employees feel valued. Current employee messaging is hugely tone-deaf.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

It is comparable to other higher ed institutions, even better.

Salary and medical insurance are the best!

All.of it is great. No complaints.

The free healthcare for employees.

The medical and life insurance.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Flexibility to work remotely a couple of days a week.

I would feel better if I was paid more and if the benefits package was more comprehensive and included education discounts

A decent salary increase. A 1% for someone who has been at UT for over 35 years is not good. Especially when inflation is at 9%,

when you work at an organization who is succeedin and yet not sharing that success with the employees -- that just doesn't feel right. 29m dollar positive margin and yet, no incentives, negative budgets, limited raises.

It makes me feel undervalued to get a great performance evaluation ("exceeds expectations") with a 2% increase. A fair salary that is appropriate to my experience and performance would make me feel better about my compensation.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

My team is knowledgeable, hard working and passionate about their work.

My co workers are some of my best friends. I feel I can trust and rely on my team for support in my personal and professional life.

They are collaborative and eager to learn/contribute to the community goals.

My team are all friendly. I am not into socializing with them. My choice.

collaborative, supportive, positive, hard-working, carig

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

Experience would be nice. Too many promoted quickly at a young age and ignorant on managing people.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

the work is fulfilling and my leadership is supportive

Knowing how the work we do makes a difference in education, research, and patient care.

Flexibility if needed. Taking off as needed.

willingness to support each other

Mission driven culture, supportive, caring coworkers, great benefits. Seems like the institution is moving forward towards increasing work/life balance

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

Experience is key. Will take time.
