I most appreciate the transparency from leadership.
The leadership team is very responsive when I have had a need to contact them.
Review from Operations Dept
very fast to respond and solve problems
They are very friendly snd informative and offer help when needed.
I like that when i have questions there is someone on the other line to answer them qyickly.
COMMUNICATION!!! Respecting tutors' time, especially the tutors for schools programs.
communication with their tutors. on time payment. transparent policies.
They need to listen to people that have worked in the industry. Working with schools isn't like working directly with consumers.
The leadership team at Varsity Tutors needs to improve transparency and accountability. They take weeks to resolve issues and often falsely terminate tutors for providing constructive criticism. Prioritizing quicker resolutions and fostering an open dialogue would enhance trust and support
Transparency, ethics, long term growth not growth at all costs.
The base pay is excellent.
I don't have one, I am a self-employed contractor. But I am a retired teacher so it works perfect for me.
I am not an "employee" I am a contractor. They are quite fair to me all the time.
Get paid twice a week.
PTO earnings are nice and the bi-weekly pay schedule
Review from Operations Dept
There are no benefits, just 1099 contracts which pay the tutors low houly wage and charge customers excessively.
No benefits worth mentioning are offered.
With one on one sessions
Compensation does not increase like a typical corporation. Less than 3% per year consistently over the last 5 years for a top sales rep.
better pay and offering of benefits
Great team peers. We are all holding each other up.
We don't have any meetings!?
So far, 3+ years, they have done what was needed without fuss. There have been no meetings, which is wonderful. If I need to know something they tell me. Easy peasy.
The cohesiveness shown by all
I don't actually work with a specific team, but when I have had questions, they are answered with great promptness and clarity.
Review from Operations Dept
There are no meetings, no contact between tutors, no response from support staff.
It's not coworkers the people who we need to email and the customer service are Just garbage people And do not deserve to have any honest employees for the way they treat their workers.
I never interacted with other tutors and rarely heard from actual management, but the darn AI emails never stopped coming!
we did not have meetings. all communications were via email
Review from Operations Dept
Occasionally issues are addressed but there is no confirmation email so I am not aware at first that the problem was corrected.
Review from Operations Dept
They can always be relied upon... to let you down.
Working from home is the only positive
I work from home and nobody bothers me, which is ideal for an introvert.
Most of the employes and contractors are high functioning and no-nonsense. That is great in my opinion. And EXTREMELY polite to me and each other.
The fact that I was allowed to resign was probably the most positive part of the whole experience.
Respect for tutors and communication would improve things.
communication with tutors, providing feedback, valuing the input of the people who do the work, responsiveness to concerns.
Fix problems, reach out and retain strong staff, value strongest tutors.
fairness. transparency. loyalty. w-2 compensation.
I would see my other comments.
There was no real interview.
It was a practical interview.
I barely had to interview. The person I spoke to over the phone for my "interview" didnt ask me any questions and was prepared to offer me the job within like 5 minutes. The interviewer did make some promises around schedule flexibility that that did not end up being true at all.
Review from Sales Dept
It was a quick interview
The opportunity to showcase my teaching skills, and the expectations of what Varsity Tutors expects.
Review from Operations Dept
Shorten the delay. I was two months into another job before I heard back from my Varsity application. If that other job had been worth a damn, I would not have been available to work for Varsity.
It's just completely disorganized. There are several interviewers but none know what the others are doing, etc.
Seeing students progress toward their goals as well as seeing their attitudes about learning in general improve over time.
My manager's support when it is needed.
The students! They're great to work with.
The students, and how they are able to interact with me, and I with them.
Review from Operations Dept
Working with my clients is something i love
Clients are rooed into expensive long term contracts which may not be needed, depending upon the student.
We need to have better inter-company communications. Every team works in a silo.
someone needs to start a class action lawsuit.
They need to get rid of Chuck Cohen and the top execs who made these poor changes within the last year and start over.
Restructuring of the company model.
