Q&A With VIPKid Employees

VIPKid employees answer questions about what life is like behind the scenes at their company, including queries about culture, leadership, professional development, and compensation.

How employees describe working at VIPKid

Great place to work in an environment of mutual respect.

VIPKID is a great opportunity for those who find a fit. The new payment structure has made part-time teaching with VIPKID less attractive. The work is fun and the organization is fine, until something that is not considered tragic prevents you from working on short notice.

One word: greedy. They lie about the possibility of pay raises and have "restructured" pay scale so much that I'm now making nearly half what I did last year. Many classes are poorly written and the "incentives" can only be described as insulting.

Friendly real people that care about the team

  • They will hire those from English-speaking countries regardless of race or color. However, because the clients/parents are the onrs who choose to book you, your bookings are based on how well you can market yourself and what parents are looking for. There is an advantage for those who are Caucasian (especially men).

Asked to all employees at VIPKid

  • I really love teaching for VIPKid. The only improvement that I would like to see is to have more assistance for the demo lessons as well as feedback for failed demo lessons. Overall, I think that VK is a great company to work for. I think that the company tries to help teachers by giving incentives for opening time slots and providing a variety of great workshops.
