Vitas upper management is about money and numbers not patient care. Many employees are salaried and Vitas takes advantage of that, causing high turnover. Benefits are some of the worst in healthcare. Still paper charting!

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Concentrate on patient care and employee morale not census numbers
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Stop focusing on admissions and numbers. Admit patients who meet hospice criteria instead of inappropriate patients. Hire and train adequate field staff to care for the patients before you admit.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Pay field staff hourly not salary. Salaried employees ( most not a few) are working nights and weekends to catch up on the unrealistic paperwork. Hourly pay and electronic charting would help. Value your staff and patients not the census numbers. The health insurance is the worst I've ever seen!!
