Mr. Michael Scott Smith, also known as Mike, FSA, MAAA, CFA serves as the President of Voya Insurance and Annuity Company (also known as ING USA Annuity and Life Insurance Company). Mr. Smith has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Voya Financial, Inc. since November 7, 2016, May 2012 respectively. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Solutions and Closed Block Variable Annuities at Voya Financial, Inc. since January 2014 until September 16, 2016. Mr. Smith served as the Chief Risk Officer at Voya Financial, Inc. from May 2012 to January 2014 and also served as its Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Solutions since January 2014. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the enterprise-wide and business-level risk monitoring and management program for Voya Financial. In addition to his risk management role, he provided management oversight of Closed Block Variable Annuity segment. Mr. Smith joined Voya Financial in May 2009 first as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Insurance Risk Officer of the annuity business and subsequently as chief executive officer of Annuity Manufacturing. and subsequently as chief executive officer of Annuity Manufacturing. From 1988 to 2009, Mr. Smith was employed by Lincoln Financial Group (???LNC???) where he held several positions, including head of Profitability and Risk Management for Retirement Solutions at LNC. He served as head of customer support for LNC's Employer Markets division. Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company of Lincoln National Corporation since December 1, 2004. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Officer Administrative Officer for Lincoln Financial Distributors Inc. (LFD) of Lincoln National Corporation. Prior to joining LFD, Mr. Smith was the Chief Actuarial Officer for The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, where his responsibilities included the actuarial opinion and memorandum, surplus management and asset-liability management. He has been a Director of LL Global Inc since November 5, 2014. He serves as a Director of Security Life of Denver Insurance Company, ReliaStar Life Insurance Company of New York, Voya Insurance and Annuity Company (also known as ING USA Annuity and Life Insurance Company), Voya Retirement Insurance and Annuity Company, and Voya Retirement Insurance and Annuity Company (alos know as ING Life Insurance and Annuity Company). He served as a Director of LIMRA Inc. until October 30, 2017. He joined Lincoln in 1988 and attained Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 1990. Mr. Smith is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a CFA charter holder. Mr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in economics and Russian studies from the University of Michigan.
