Executive Bio

Mr. Richard M. Lucas, also known as Rich, has been an Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Walker & Dunlop, Inc. since November 2010 and serves as its Secretary. Mr. Lucas has been General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary at Hilton Worldwide, Inc. (also known as Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hilton Worldwide) since joining in May 2008 and has been its Head of Legal Department since August 2009. Prior to Hilton, Mr. Lucas served at Arnold & Porter LLP, as Partner in the real estate and bankruptcy practice groups. At Hilton, he lead a team of 100 employees. He was a Partner in the law firm of Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, DC, where he had worked for 18 years. He has two decades of legal experience in real estate transactions and litigation. His practice was focused on real estate transactions and litigation, primarily in the hospitality and senior living areas. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Lucas served as an Adjunct Faculty member at The George Washington University Law School, where he taught a course on real estate transactions. He served as a Director of Walker & Dunlop, Inc. since July 2010 to October 2010. He was named one of the top real estate litigators in Washington, DC by The Washington Business Journal. Mr. Lucas received his B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and received his J.D. from Yale Law School.
