People are promoted to store managers, they have never been trained to manage people.

Treat people with respect and dignity. Listen to staff complaints without the employee fearing instant dismissal if they speak out for themselves or colleagues.Recognising effort. Not discriminate between temporary and permanent staff in terms of non- financial rewards

Paid $8.50 per hour, no benefits. No work/life balance, (clopening) when you close the store and then open in the morning, exhausting.

For example, there is a monthly Pizza day hosted by the company but only permanent staff are allowed to eat. Candles are gifted to permanent staff while temporary are not even allowed to buy at discounted rated.

Pay us a livable wage if you want better sales people

They cut alot of your salary when you cannot make it to work, as well as only giving you a really really small percentage of the sales.

There are no company meetings

There are supposed to be meetings? Never had them.

My team leader is excellent, empathetic, fair and consistent . My colleagues are all hard working and share a sense of humour.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Our staff is kind, considerate and helpful.

Very little positive about the company, its culture, its management or work practices but the people working on the shop floor are friendly, helpful and work well as a team facing the adversity of workplace practices and ethos

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Retail associates usually work alone. Breakroom is a metal chair with a microwave in the stockroom.

The employees at lower levels are not appreciated throughout the company or even in regions or districts. Only upper level executives are acknowledged for promotions and district and regional managers rarely show up for meetings
