BIO: Paul Kusserow is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Amedisys (AMED), a publicly traded, leading provider of home health, hospice, palliative and personal care services with over 22,000 employees in 39 states and the District of Columbia, making over 12.3 million patient visits per year. Under his leadership, the company has grown its value 9x itself and has been established as a clinical leader in the fast-growing home health and hospice industry. Mr. Kusserow, a healthcare industry veteran with deep expertise in driving growth strategies, previously served as President and Vice Chairman of Alignment Healthcare, Inc., an integrated clinical care company focused on providing care to the Medicare population. Prior to that, he served for five years as Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy, Innovations and Corporate Development Officer of Humana, Inc., a Fortune 75 healthcare services and benefits company. Mr. Kusserow’s experience also includes time as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of the Ziegler HealthVest Fund; Managing Director of San Ysidro Capital Partners, L.L.C.; and Managing Partner of Roaring Mountain, L.L.C. He began his healthcare career with Tenet Healthcare Corporation, one of the nation’s largest investor-owned healthcare service companies, where he spent seven years, the last four as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Ventures. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, Inc. Mr. Kusserow is on the board of directors of Picwell, Oak Street Health and Matrix Medical Network. Mr. Kusserow received his Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a Philip B. Brown Scholar and an Olin Fellow. He received his Master of Arts with honors from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Josh Proffitt

CEO of LHC Group

BIO: Josh Proffitt serves as LHC Group’s president and chief executive officer. In this role, he is responsible for the development and oversight of the company’s strategic priorities and organizational growth and performance, while advancing the company’s mission and strengthening its culture enterprise-wide. He leads a strong and growing bench of seasoned executives and teams that are focused on high performance across all six of LHC Group’s pillars of excellence. Mr. Proffitt joined LHC Group in 2008 and during his tenure at the company has served in numerous roles, including: vice president, assistant general counsel and director of mergers and acquisitions; senior vice president and chief compliance officer; executive vice president, corporate development and general counsel; executive vice president and chief financial officer; and, most recently, president and chief operating officer. Before coming to LHC Group, he was a member of the corporate healthcare practice group with the law firm of Alston & Bird LLP, in Atlanta. Mr. Proffitt is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif (top 10 in the class) from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Mr. Proffitt currently serves as a community advisory member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees Healthcare Committee. He also serves as a Board of Trustees member for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Foundation and a Board of Trustees member for the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
