I love my center although it needs tons of work, but DP as a whole is too driven by revenue and growth instead of taking care of the dedicated, hard-working existing employees. The recently eliminated positions make me insecure about having a job at DP. Also, low level employees are way overworked
The clients and the dogs
We get to take care of dogs which we're all passionate about
The people at my center that do care about the work are wonderful!
I have only worked for DP for a week, but I'm a GM and my RM is awesome.
The team I have constructed is pretty solid. I have hard workers who are dedicated to the job
Since my center is in pretty bad condition right now and it's a fixer-upper, I'm enjoying getting to turn it around.
Salary + insurance is nice. Since managers in this industry are so prone to burnout, though, I think that the PTO accrual could be more generous.
A few members of my team are dedicated, hard-working, and passionate. The rest of them are quite the opposite. Since I've only been in this position for a week, I'm disappointed that prior management hired some of these people.
Appreciating GMs and RMs. Our jobs are incredibly difficult, as I'm sure as the jobs of those on the leadership team, so I feel like we need to be there for each other but we don't have any sort of connection or communication at all. RMs and GMs are intensely over-worked
As a GM, I'm working at least 70 hours per week in order to get all my work done and I get little to no recognition for it. My salary is too low for the amount of work I put in and how emotionally, physically, and mentally draining the job is. I desperately need a vacation but can't even afford one.
