The Help Scout leadership team's direction is focused, intentional, and above all, open-minded to change when in the company's best interest.

Their kindness and communication. Plus they're all smart and want to be here.

They are all humble, transparent professionals that keep the company values first while being individual experts in their fields.

Every department is involved in big decision making.

My manager, in particular, is very hands-off. He tells me the work that needs to be done, and trusts me to do it. That works perfectly for me.

Respect the employees and stop requesting them to hound the customer.

Hold tight to the vision that the founders have, the best people doing their best work and striving for perfection, that extra mile increases customer satisfaction. Remove micromanagement from the line managers and avoid using the word resource to refer to team mates.

There is a clear strategy and vision from the founders. At the mid management tier there is micromanagement which is a unnecessary.

Great founders, mediocre management. My team (engineering) hasn't got a good leadership.

If I move to a more expensive city, my compensation will increase automatically.

Help Scout executes annual salary comparisons across the market to ensure they are paying people fairly. Love that.

OK salary. Super hard to level up. Poor options amount compared to other companies.

Work hours flexibility. Health benefits paid for me and the immediate family.

If we did sell but some information was wrong we as employees would get pay taken away

Every employee could leave Help Scout and find a job making 20%+ more money tomorrow. If money & equity is your goal you should pick somewhere else. People don't work at Help Scout for the potential earnings, they work at Help Scout because of the quality of life they can build around work.

We have defined pay levels but the progression through them or whether you match the description is not obvious.

Salary band progression and pay levels descriptions are not obvious to how they are rated or implemented. Domain knowledge doesn't seem as highly rated as it should be.

The entire team is curious, helpful, and comprised of good people.

Everyone is really good at their craft and wants the team to collectively succeed.

The ability to produce high quality work with full transparency across teams.

We're a remote team, yet I feel closer to my teammates than many colocated companies I worked for, because everyone makes an effort to take share and take interest in one another.

I work with brilliant and genuinely caring people. I feel pushed to do better but well taken care of even if I make a mistake.

Everyone is kind, understanding, and realizes there is more to live than work and money.

The founders have a vision of being excellent at your craft with a work life balance. Never give this up, it rocks!

The founders place great emphasis on the remote culture and it's advantages of location flexibility and time for hobbies,relaxing and friends/family. It's something I admire and am very happy to be part of!

Transparency. Help Scout is a remote culture and for that to be successful, embedded in our DNA is full transparency across the organization with an emphasis on effective communication.

Our People Ops team keeps this ship sailing. Their energy and love trickle down to the entire team.

My work-life balance brings me much joy and the rest of the team, creating a positive and quality-filled work environment.

The freedom I have to pursue other interests outside of work.

Getting to work with some of the bests engineers in the industry.

My colleagues, they inspire me to be my best.

I know what I'm responsible for and how I'm measured and I'm given the tools I need to accomplish them, so I feel set up for success. That allows me to focus on the challenges I was hired to solve, which makes me happy!
