The Help Scout leadership team's direction is focused, intentional, and above all, open-minded to change when in the company's best interest.
Their kindness and communication. Plus they're all smart and want to be here.
They are all humble, transparent professionals that keep the company values first while being individual experts in their fields.
Every department is involved in big decision making.
My manager, in particular, is very hands-off. He tells me the work that needs to be done, and trusts me to do it. That works perfectly for me.
Review from Engineering Dept
Transparency into decision making and their open humility and equal sharing of mistakes and successes.
Review from Engineering Dept
They listen and make an effort to work through the issues
Review from Engineering Dept
There is no micro-management at all, you can get your work done when and where you are most productive. You'll get all the support you need for getting tasks done .
Review from Engineering Dept
They communicate clearly and thoroughly about where the company is and where they want it to be. They are ambitious but not impatient. And they explicitly, consciously, and carefully pursue the art of being good -- to their customers, their employees, and the world as well as to themselves.
Review from Engineering Dept
They genuinely care about the company and their employees.
I don't feel like I have "bosses". The term at Help Scout is "coaches" and that's an accurate depiction. They are on your side and want you to succeed no matter what.
Review from Engineering Dept
Their dedication - also the tendency to over communicate
Review from Engineering Dept
Leadership works hard to remain transparent, listen to and act upon team feedback, and share regular updates about the company.
They are open about sharing experiments, successes, and failures. The transparency is a huge bonus of working here.
They are open to feedback and act on it.
they communicate well, lead from the front, take responsibility for failures, aren't afraid of tough decisions, and are very transparent
Review from Engineering Dept
Respect the employees and stop requesting them to hound the customer.
Hold tight to the vision that the founders have, the best people doing their best work and striving for perfection, that extra mile increases customer satisfaction. Remove micromanagement from the line managers and avoid using the word resource to refer to team mates.
Review from Engineering Dept
There is a clear strategy and vision from the founders. At the mid management tier there is micromanagement which is a unnecessary.
Review from Engineering Dept
Great founders, mediocre management. My team (engineering) hasn't got a good leadership.
