    Warehouse Supervisors are working 12-hours a day 6-days a week. The Warehouse Supervisors are salaried management paid for 40-hours a week. Limited flexibility with Warehouse Supervisors schedule.

  • They are horrible for front end in Chicago, IL. As of June 2017, anyone hired for front end after this date will receive: No holiday pay No incentive for working on Sunday No Sick Days No vacation days You have to work for 1 year and yes you will work a full 8 hour shift every Sunday and holiday until then. I understand taken advantage, but having a new employee work every Sunday and holiday (With the exception of Christmas because the store is closed) is ridiculous. Sunday is one of the busiest days and you staff the registers with new hires or teens who can't ring liquor then wonder why customer just leave full carts everywhere.

  • Not too many people are happy about the coverage. every time we have a we sign a new contract seem like they cover less.

Arrive on time to interview Arrive well dressed, no pants with holes or shirts anyone (Especially upper 40s women) would find too revealing Do not go to the front desk and ask if they are hiring or try to submit a resume to them. If it is a store you go to a lot and you know someone who work there, ask them if you can put them down as a reference.

  • Your coworkers are usually helpful, you might even get a decent manager, you will learn skills that help with other jobs, and the customers are actually nice and polite. However, managers don't seem to stay in one store long. A good manager might only be at a store for 6-12 months, while a bad one can be there 6-36 months. The union is not helpful, more concern with making sure you pay your dues than keeping your job or making sure you get your hours.

  • It doesn't. There used to be a program where if an employee got a good review, they would receive a $5 coupon or a card redeemable for an apple or donut, but they got rid of it.

  • Jewel Osco is not very innovative. It suffers from trying to increase profits while trying to operate on as small a budget as possible which only drives away their customers. They are trying to play catch up and it's not going to work. Whole Foods, Fresh Tyme, Pete's, all keep up with customers. They all offer 2 hour delivery at all locations, they work with delivery services such as instacart, Postmates, and Door Dash. Even Walmart is striving to meet their consumers with not only grocery pick up but making that service available to people who use EBT is genius. Jewel's app, my mixx, rarely works. The POS is slow and breaks often. The delivery service is slow and is only available for a few locations. They run out of slots quickly leaving customer angry and taking their business elsewhere. Jewel Osco is moving too slow and soon will be out of business because of its refusal to invest in innovations.
