How does Giant Eagle handle HR issues?
It depends on how you report the issue. If you use the Ethics action line and choose to remain anonymous, they will not reach out to you.
Sweep them under the rug. Never investigate properly. Only voices heard are those of long time team leaders. No real concern for employees.
Each group of stores has dedicated HR people. Also it's a Union company, so you have District Union reps.
What should I wear for an interview at Giant Eagle?
Office casual
Whatever you want! They let ppl with the worst hygiene practices cook your food!
Wear nice clothes not dress up clothes
How do I do well in an interview at Giant Eagle?
Dose not matter if you not a friend or family or know someone they probably wont give you tge job unless they are desperate!

Be honest, be yourself, have open availability, gear your answers toward customer service
What do people at Giant Eagle think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
They say she is all about money. They say she is running tge company into the ground. They say it was nothing like it is now. They say it use to be a family company who cared about all its employees until she took over. Now all they care for is money money money!
Almost no one outside of the corporate offices likes or respects the CEO. We did love and respect her father but she does not care about the employees at all!
Giant Eagle does a good job at hiring diversely and respecting their employees. Morale is high, and employees are happy. We like our CEO.

New TL. Family oriented. TM importance. Fairness. Accountability. Customers first always!

It used to be good but now retail-level employees can not trust leadership. Speaking up puts you at risk of losing your job.

Dress code is now casual.
Depends on your Dept., But either GE shirts and jeans or a uniform you're given.
How innovative is Giant Eagle?
Not at all!
They roll out new services quite often. They just released home delivery, online shopping, and quick pick up at some Market District stores.

Okay
Great! Not my easiest interview, but a good one.
What's the interview process like at Giant Eagle?
Includes tests (math, etc). May include customer service scenarios.
I did a couple tests online, then I completed a phone interview. Then I was called for an an interview with 2 district managers which included a math test and questions about customer service. Finally, I was contacted by District HR and offered my job...I then received the offer in writing.

You get vacation (paid) after one year of service.
How much and how often do raises happen at Giant Eagle?
Pharmacy employees are non-union and get very poor raises once a year. Guidelines for how much you get are set up to purposely give low ones.
Raises are set by your current bargaining agreement.
