
We are independent contractors so there are no benefits but we are paid fairly. There is always room for advancement and incentives to help increase weekly pay.
The people. We may spend our day in front of a computer but it is not at all isolating. Knowing I can reach out at any moment either for help or just to chat with a coworker always makes me happy.
From the "shiny shoes" as we lovingly refer to top management, to the technical support team, to the team leads everyone is exceedingly supportive. Concerns are addressed and handled quickly. Suggestions are regarded seriously and often implemented when feasible. Feedback is constructive.
There is no interview process per se. You must pass an exam and the exam can be difficult but that's because they want only the highest caliber of person working as a transcriber so that our clients are guaranteed the best quality work.
They never stop trying to make TM better not just for clients but for transcribers as well. They listen when we bring issues to them and almost always act on those concerns. Our opinions are valued - that's a rare commodity these days.
While we never meet in person, our online chats and collaboration through the Yammer platform help us to all feel connected. There is always someone available to help or just listen. We can talk about non-work related things as well, so it really has begun to feel like a family.
