While at a glance, compensation seems fair, due to high quality expectations (often involving research), after the actual time one spends on work, the compensation is extremely low, far below minimum wage. On the other hand, the community is very supportive, positive, and helpful.

Prompt weekly payments directly deposited into my bank account. There has never been an issue with payment for assiggnments.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Low pay, no benefits because it's a freelance gig. That's how they exploit workers. At best, you might earn $5/hr.

It seems nearly impossible to make minimum wage as a transcriber, even when you join "special teams." The flexibility of the job is great, and it's a friendly place to work, but I do feel taken advantage of in terms of pay.

There are lots of opportunities to connect even though the work is all online. Special interest groups, contests, even connected to hobbies

Being able to ask your team anything at any point of your transcriptions is amazing. And the answers usually come quick and polite.

For transceivers, and even on my special team, there are no meetings, btw. Still, the team is supportive on Yammer. You can always ask questions and receive assistance.

I think each of us is really good at what we do and we recognise that we make up a team even though we work from across the globe. Communication is excellent and so problems can be solved in a timely manner. I think we all feel blessed to be working and are excited to tackle the assignments each day

What did you like most about the interview process?
The interview consists of ability testing which is pretty challenging.

Being able to take the exams before actually starting to get physical work was a plus for me. Being able to get that practice and understanding under the belt helps so much. My background check and really the entire process, happened quickly and smoothly.

Seeing that there's availsble work

Being able to work at home with this company is amazing, not only because I can continue to be a stay-at- home parent, but also because most files are in after my kids go to bed. And since I have a bad habit of staying up way too late anyway; it's refreshing.
