WORST ins. co. I've dealt with in FIFTY YEARS!!!!!!!!!! Prescriptions are a NIGHTMARE and have been for the entire 2 years I've had them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Constant layoffs during Gail's tenure. Not a company you will likely retire from. Years of service are not recognized as a positive. Higher salary puts a target on your back.
I think this company is degusting with how the limit of healthcare they provide for the customers and fights every healthcare needs of the customer all the while increasing insurance rate for us to pay. I am diabetic and this company is horrible with helping me in healthcare.

You are usually interviewed by hiring manager. If the position is higher level maybe HR 1st
Tedious. There are usually several for an external candidate. At least 1 with the HR department and then with the hiring manager.

I think my manager and OE are amazing , they make working at anthem a wonderful positive experience.
Our leadership team is customer focused and make every effort to fulfil the goals.

How are layoffs handled in the IT department at Elevance Health?

Full time employees are being replaced with foreigners from India for cheaper wages. American workers are the minority. Constant reorganization’s and lay-offs due to mismanagement of money, no team environment, no training, male chauvinist environment. They don’t care about the FTE associate. Not a good place to work for. Look elsewhere!
More layoffs coming soon for Anthem people! Start looking for a job elsewhere before you’re given a pink slip. Not a great company to work for.
I haven't seen any layoffs of full time associates, only contracted workers. Occasionally, a senior leader has been "asked" to leave, but a hefty severance package is usually involved.

They are usually behavioral I.e., tell me about a time you had to achieve a goal but we’re having difficulty.
If applying for an IT position, be prepared to back up your skills because those interviews are typically 25% team fit and 75% technical fit.
They ask the standard interview questions. However, depending on the position, they may cater questions relevant to the position.

Very fast paced and the culture varies by team. Things change constantly in the health care industry and there are often very tight turnaround times.
Anthem is a very diverse company. I enjoy the fact that there are many different kinds of people with many different kinds of backgrounds that I am able to personally interact with each day.
A tad fragmented... Lots of divisions that don't always talk with each other

As far as pay, they seem to be on the high end of compensation compared to other health insurance companies.

Depends on the manager, but most teams allow a day a week or as needed.
On the IT side of things they are starting to tighten down on it. Mostly as a response to abuse. Still its often up to the discretion of direct managers...

Fairly decent compared to other jobs/companies. A lot of professional-level employees work from home more than 50% of the time, so there is a lot of trust bestowed on them to use the time appropriately to perform job duties and reach goals.
