Briefly? I'll try. I feel valued. I feel safe. I learn interesting new things every day. I work with people who inspire me to be a better version of myself. I am paid well. When I wake up in the morning, I am genuinely excited to come to work. I am grateful to work here.

Learning new things, both in my field and outside of it.

I don't feel like I am being micromanaged - my boss is a team player.

People are willing and eager to answer questions and help new hires to get up to speed.

Healthcare is extremely affordable. It can be such a huge cost so this is a huge deal (at least for me).

The fact that my manager trusts me to do my job. I can work at a faster pace here AND do better work because Carbon does not micromanage.

The range of skills spread across the folks who work here is incredible. I feel like if there is something I need to learn how to do, there is someone here at Carbon who is an expert and willing to teach me.

That they are all BRILLIANT is a given, but they are also kind, inclusive, nonjudgmental, and usually offer to help before I even ask; as a new hire, this is huge. The diversity is also a great thing - I love hearing everyone's unique story.

The health/vision/dental plans. Again, this might not seem like a big deal to people who have always had insurance but I lived without it for 10 years before I was hired. Knowing that I will be okay if I get sick or injured it brings a huge peace of mind. :)

The respect shown to ALL employees, regardless of who they are or what their job is. Techs are valued the same as the engineers, women are treated with dignity, and new parents are given generous leave time to bond with their babies. Carbon makes good on promises that other places pay lip service to

I know this might seem really small, but I really love how managers and other folks in charge sit at the same desks as the rest of us. As I am sure is the case for many folks here, I've got a case of Imposter Syndrome (Wait, I have a PhD? No way!) Carbon is the first place I've felt like an equal.
