It hasn't been great. I'm content with it for now due to the DM team. If we lose my DM, there's no reason to stay with this company. I am just a number to Public Storage, they will not use me to benefit them unless they can do so for the same rate as everyone else. No individual recognition at all.
They help us when there are issues
They are always fun to work with
Different options to choose from
Always doing new things to help us out better
Working with my co workers
District Managers are great! They listen and provide feedback and assistance as they're able.
They're nice when they see us in person. They don't have any understanding of how a property actually works day to day and the time and effort that is required to maintain a property at just a "good enough" condition.
Inability for individual recognition in terms of job opportunities, raises or bonuses. The company does not care about employees individual results in any capacity, unless they situate you into the "right" property that can bonus, based off hours worked, not work actually done.
Consistently passing their duties off to other employees and even the District Managers even when it's within their capability to solve an issue. Only some are required to clean or maintain units/properties while others can just say they did without leaving the office.
There's nothing more to do. There's no movement. The only opportunities we have are maybe 1 additional role to move to in the entire region, if that happens. They won't work with me individually to provide a better work balance that suits my specific skillset.
