Talking to coworkers outside of work-related matters. I used to be able to plan work, and I liked that very much, but they took it away (they restricted it company-wide to the level just above mine).
Since the work is really solitary, coworkers do not interact much outside necessary communication (usually in an async manner). I have a VP of engineering that is really good, patient, and helpful, though, so that helps.
The tracker needs to stop counting time I spend off-keyboard as idle time, and proper linux support for it should be introduced. Also, I'd very much like more challenging work, as the work I do right now is utterly meaningless for me. and is far beneath my qualification.
It's very solitary! Less focus on metrics at the cost of the contributors' mental health. More engaging work, more focus on team activity even if it introduces waste and redundancy. I'd like to see some pair coding, or a day in which we revise our codebase together and make it better, etc.
They have 0 retention, and 0 focus on the human aspect of work. We're being told we should act like machines in a factory assembly line, and the whole work structure is centered around that idea. Also, work culture is rather solitary even by remote work standards, and no effort is put to change it.
