When Destination Pet bought us out, I slowly came to realize all my career goals could no longer be filled here. Our clients have noticed a significant change in the running of our business and it's not in a good light.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Staff members treat one another like family. We show appreciation for each others jobs and extras we put in.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Building an environment that offers the support and training for each employee. To offer raises to those that have patiently waited and put forth so much effort towards the their location.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Management does not understand their role. They don't take accountability for how under prepared they've left us as we are getting more and more busier. They leave our staff without the tools and support needed to succeed.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We support one another. My team steps up when other departments are needing help, just as they do the same for us. We show clients a genuine love for them as clients as well as our love for their pets.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I was promoted to a leadership position for my team and given no raise for the added responsibilities that I took on. When asking for a raise in pay, we are given a non-answer and silenced. All while they ask us to attend to jobs and responsibilities outside our job description.
