Overall experience at Eargo has been fantastic. I've hopped around quite a few jobs because I hadn't found a place where the culture was great and where I was valued. Eargo is the first company where I've experienced a great culture. As for being valued, I'm still working on getting more visibility.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Recent times have been hard due to salary cuts and increased workload with less staff.
What makes you most happy at work?
The whole team working passionately to make the best product for our customers. The fact that what we are doing is making a difference in people's health and lives.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone is allowed and encouraged to speak up and engage. Everyone treats each other with kindness and respect. We all help each other however we can to take the load off and get the job done.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They have a clear vision and a great handle on the business. There has never been any ambiguity about the mission and vision of the company. Due to the tenacity of the CEO and leadership team, the company is thriving in the most uncertain times.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My manager is very trusting and hands-off. He is always available for guidance but never micromanages. He always enables the team to do their best at any task. As a result, we are greatly invested in the product and want to make it the best possible.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Doing an assignment before the interview gave me a great idea of how the product worked and also gave me the confidence to ace the interview. Being able to meet with the leadership team during the interview and learn about the company and culture was also great.
