My experience at the company has been great. I've been challenged with many opportunities to grow. The pay and benefits are good. Added benefits such as paternity leave and employees ability to work from home 50% is huge for moral/productivity. I hope our company continues to move in this direction.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
My overall experience has been great. The company is getting out of the old school mentality and adapting to change. Hearing employees and what they have to say speaks volumes. then putting it to action. Employees may realize not all suggestions can be granted, however, follow up is a must.

Everyone is quick to help each other out.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I enjoy the bonus at the end of the year.
What makes you most happy at work?
The people I work with. The flexibility of managers and upper leadership with being able to work remotely.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like the explanation of the path moving forward and ways to get there. I like they answer questions submitted by employees to show they care.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
More communication and transparency then there was in the past. Listening to employees suggestions and vocalizing what they are doing vs in the past, not knowing if it was heard or anything was being done.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The best part of the compensation package I would say is the bonus. Most companies do not give out bonuses so that is huge that Union Pacific does that and sets us apart from other companies.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The most positive thing about the culture and environment is our company getting with the times and adapting with new policies and perks employees want. Specifically the 50% work from home UP rolled out during COVID. Offering flexibility is huge, being job department obviously.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The best things about our team is communication and the overall willingness to help one another. Even if a problem is with one team, someone on another team who may not deal with that responsibility is willing to give a helping hand seeing the overall picture is that we are a team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
They are adapting to change and new ideas presented by survey and focus group. Elmiinating non value add meetings or meetings that are prolonged the full scheduled time. If a meeting is an hour and everything is discussed in 30 minutes, giving the time back instead of filling the time with fluff.
What makes you most happy at work?
What makes me most happy at work is having a good work life balance. I am able to get my work done, get the help I need if I am struggling with a problem and mostly, the flexibility of my manager and department when it comes to work-life balance with the schedule.
