I love where I work and plan to spend my whole career here. However, I feel like the company leadership needs to do better about following company policies and valuing a work life balance. For instance, a corp policy of 50% WFH but then requiring 3/4 days a week. That makes zero sense.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I love working at union pacific and the people. I value the ability to try new things. However, Loup has an extreme manager training problem, placing people in to roles without any clue how to lead or manage. I have recently had a manager transition and its very discouraging.
What makes you most happy at work?
My team and my boss are phenomenal.

The annual bonus and competitive pay.

Always willing to change their mindset and accept new ideas.

We are always willing to collaborate and bounce ideas about each other. Our team values our diverse ideas and cultures.

I feel like our team genuinely has our best interest in mind, I also appreciate their willingness to have town halls and be approachable.

I love that I feel supported and that my manager always has my back. It makes me feel empowered as a women in transportation that anything is possible.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They need to instead of saying we matter, actually show us that we matter. I feel like the company is talking the talk but not walking the walk
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is diverse and approachable. I feel lucky to be apart of the group I am in. It really disappoints me to see others in Loup- specially in Wholesale, not have the same experience.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I really value the ability to be able to change roles and grow within the organization. It is not frowned on to develop. Again, that is only my experience and know that is not the same on other teams within Loup.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel there is a clear differential between Loup and UPRR. I also feel the gender gap between men and women at the company is real. I know a multitude of employees that have less years of service with less experience making more at the same level. That should never happen and we should do better
