Facilities are old and run down. The staff, especially the manufacturing employees, are entitled and resistant to change. The manufacturing team is basically runs the company...the CEO is spineless and rarely pushed back on the employees. Pay is really bad.

Very secure...they hate the get rid of anyone including poor performers. There's no up and out mentality.

Random...no one there knows how to interview. Some even ask illegal questions.
How flexible is your work schedule at Spectra Mat?
Very flexible...generally as long as you are in by 9 am and work your 8 hours alls good.
How does Spectra Mat handle HR issues?
Little to no HR support. There's an HR Generalist onsite one day per week. Corporate HR is nonresponsive to even minor issues
How innovative is Spectra Mat?
Lacks innovation from top to bottom...the team prefers to keep doing things the same way because "that's the way we've always done it".
What are you most excited about working at Spectra Mat?
The product is robust, hasn't changed in years and is needed in a variety of sectors from defense, university r&d and medical. We're able to withstand the ebbs and flows of economic ups and downs.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Spectra Mat?
Focus on employee engagement and empowerment. Current culture is focused on status quo, continuous/process improvement is a none starter for most people. Focus on bringing in outside talent...the culture is incestuous at best and dysfunctional at worst.
