Great people to work with
There are great employees at 3M, the company still holds high standards in recruiting. Most of them are unmotivated and annoyed by the poor management. They still could, someday, turn the company around to better.

Employees at the base level are paycheck driven only, reinstate lost benefits to increase job satisfaction
Willingness to confront reality. Speak candidly about issues without getting emotionally hijacked.
3M has historically had a hire to retire approach and rarely hire externally. Need to benchmark against competition vs just measuring improvement. Many managers and employees lack a perspective of what's possible or how other companies handle similar challenges.

Many are depressed because they have no input and are never truly a part of change

First of all, they need to be qualified for their positions which they're not, and they're lazy. All that is an overstatement too
