Executive Bio

Mr. Gary Lawrence has been the Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President at AECOM Technology Corporation since September 2010. Mr. Lawrence served as the visionary for AECOM's sustainability operations, managing AECOM Technology's breadth of resources and skills in sustainability for projects across AECOM Technology. He was Owner of Gary Lawrence Consulting, LLC from April 2010 to July 2010; Urban Strategies Leader at Arup from January 2002 to April 2010; Planning Director of City of Seattle from January 2000 to December 2004; and Director of Center for Sustainable Communities at University of Washington from 1995 to 1998. His 20 years of global sustainability experience also include serving as advisor to U.S. President Clinton's Administration Council on sustainable development, the United Nations' Habitat II, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Brazilian President's Office, the British Prime Minister's Office, the European Academy for the Urban Environment in Berlin and the Organization for Economic and Community Development in Paris on matters of sustainable development and environmental policy. He has been Chief Sustainability Officer of The Dakia Foundation, a division of Dakia Global, LLC since August 2016 and Sustainability Consultant of Advocates for a Better Future since September 2015. He has been a Member of Board of Advisors at Build Academy, Inc. since February 2017.
