The Company installs and operates power plants and it charges its customers both for providing the generating capacity, and for the electricity it produces. Blair joined Aggreko in November 2021. Blair has extensive executive and board experience in both public and privately owned businesses across a number of different sectors including building materials, engineering, energy, chemical distribution, retail and FMCG. Blair was a director of Marshalls plc, Chief Executive of Polypipe plc, Chief Executive of Tarmac Building Products and Chief Executive of Brush Group (owned by Melrose plc).

He has enjoyed a varied career which includes military service as a commissioned officer in the Royal Marines.
