Blair has extensive executive and board experience in both public and privately owned businesses across a number of different sectors including building materials, engineering, energy, chemical distribution, retail and FMCG. Blair was a director of Marshalls plc, Chief Executive of Polypipe plc, Chief Executive of Tarmac Building Products and Chief Executive of Brush Group (owned by Melrose plc).

He has enjoyed a varied career which includes military service as a commissioned officer in the Royal Marines.
