My overall experience has been in low level roles as a foot in the door as industries went on hiring freezes during COVID. It feels like a means to an end and can get frustrating at times. But I like working at Amazon and see a potential for a future here.
They can be fun to work with
They're kind and fun people to be around.
Working on projects outside my scope
More base pay to bring total comp up
I don't really have enough visibility to be answering these questions
Its relatively low risk and so not full of stress all the time.
These are bad questions. Double barreled questions - questions that ask two questions - dont do a good job assessing people
I would feel better about my compensation if I was paid more. Leaving Amazon would result in a 15-20% pay increase, maybe more.
Getting to work on projects that fit my background and expertise, however I'm not in a role that pays me enough for that expertise. So, it feels like a double-edged sword at times.
(in reference to consumer leadership starting with Daniel Bigbee and down) They come across as real people. They seem down to earth and like they care about us as employees. I wish we had more visibility into their vision and strategy for the org.
