Ambry Genetics Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

My salary as an early-career genetic counselor is extremely competitive compared to other jobs I had been applying to.

Review from Operations Dept

Unlimited PTO and parental leave.

Review from Sales Dept

Being able to work Remote

Review from HR Dept

We have bonus that pays out twice a year. Generally our performance has been good so the payouts have been consistent. We are also slowly starting to introduce RSUs into the picture.

Review from HR Dept

unlimited paid time off :)

Review from Engineering Dept

unlimited time off for salaried employees

Review from Operations Dept

The compensation package is fair.

Review from Operations Dept

good Salary, PTO and insurance

Review from Product Dept

Salary, but only if inclusive of base and STI

Review from Operations Dept

flexibility to take time off

Review from Operations Dept

Flexible Time Off was a wonderful implementation. I don't have to worry about capping my hours and being forced to use them when I don't want to! Although I do not take advantage of the perks like ClassPass, I appreciate that things like that are offered.

Review from Operations Dept

The high potential for upward mobility to increase compensation over time.

Review from Product Dept

I appreciate the transparency with salary and benefits like PTO usage and more.

Review from Operations Dept

Flexible time off is offered

Review from Operations Dept

Pay is in line with the market.

Review from HR Dept

it is fair given the market

Review from HR Dept

The insurance benefits and things like ClassPass, where the company seems to listen and really care for their employees' wellbeing

Review from Operations Dept

Seems to be in align with my skills

Review from Marketing Dept

Short Term Incentive plan (bonus)

Review from Operations Dept

That it stays competitive year over year

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Uncompetitive pay, and low benefits amount

Review from Operations Dept

401K match is imperative to keep talent here

Review from Operations Dept

We need better health care and retirement benefits.

Review from Operations Dept

A raise that would reflect my work

Review from Operations Dept

It is not on par with industry standards & does not take into account the area in which you live-Pay scale for Califonia vs. Iowa very cost of living. No tuition reimbursement program- if only 5% of sales team make bonus that is not healthy for retention.

Review from Sales Dept

Benefits have gotten worse for the upcoming year with the transition to Tempus benefits. Much more expensive medical with lack of options. Loss of holidays that are covered by the company and loss of the flexibility on how holidays are viewed by the lab.

Review from Operations Dept

If genetic counselors were paid equally regardless of if work on clinical side or commercial side. Also if we had better health insurance coverage.

Review from Operations Dept

Other institutional labs pay more and dont base your salary on location

Review from Operations Dept

I'm not being paid as much as other people with similar years of experience in my field.

Review from Operations Dept

Promotional opportunities are not consistent across all departments, my wage is not industry standard for the work that I do and the benefits package is shallow.

Review from Operations Dept

Not unique to this company, but the divide between work/education level and amount paid has grown. Add in inflation and other issues and you become less likely to feel like you're paid your value.

Review from Operations Dept

More and more job duties added without increased compensation. Doing more and working more than 40 hours as a salaried employee is not beneficial to fair compensation.

Review from Operations Dept

Greater compensation as well as leadership being more open and honest with changes they are planning on making

Review from Operations Dept

The responsibility does not reflect the compensation. As the responsibilities grow, the compensation remains or is increased meagerly from standard yearly %. Clear growth/incentives would really help dial in expectations.

Review from IT Dept

I do not feel undervalued but would like the commission plan to truly reflect the Total Revenue that a large territory brings in for the Company versus a heavily weighted percent to goal that doesn't consider everything that goes into managing and retaining bigger territory w/ more Revenue

Review from Sales Dept

A big factor in feeling undervalued is respect, encouragement, contributions and then being compensated. For example not having my opinion/perspective taken into account. I can be the go to person as they know I will get it done, but then not supported. Part of being valued is being compensated.

Review from Operations Dept

Most workers are juggling multiple tasks that don't reflect what we should be paid

Review from Operations Dept

Financial compensation and employee recognition.

Review from Product Dept

I understand having a stronger financial standing is important, but could be paid better, could have better benefits accommodating 'skill learning plans' ie credit towards any course/program in edx, udemy, etc. Could have fitness benefits like a discount on gym memberships, Snacks and Merch, etc.

Review from Product Dept

Considering how much money the company makes and the amount of work we do daily. Better pay would be common sense for most in lab work. Fast food employees make almost the same as accessioning and our work is vital to the whole process of the company.
