David L. Yowan — Executive Vice President and Corporate Treasurer at American Express

Mr. David L. Yowan serves as Executive Vice President of American Express Company and has been its Corporate Treasurer since July 17, 2006. Mr. Yowan served as the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of American Express Credit Corporation. Mr. Yowan joined American Express in 1999. As corporate treasurer, he is responsible for management of capital resources at American Express, the management of short and long-term funding, asset securitization, market risk and overall cash management. Mr. Yowan served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer, American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc., a subsidiary of American Express Credit Corp. He served as Vice President of American Express Credit Corp. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of American Express Credit Corp., Parent Company of American Express Canada Credit Corporation. He served as Senior Vice President of American Express Company since July 17, 2006. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Treasury Strategy, Assistant Treasurer of American Express Company and Treasurer of Travel Related Services. Prior to American Express, he served as Senior Vice President , portfolio and risk management, for the global consumer banking business of Citigroup. Mr. Yowan served as Senior Financial Analyst with the Ayco Corporation, then a subsidiary of American Express. He has been an Independent Director of Navient Corporation since March 30, 2017. He serves as Director of American Express Credit Corp., Parent Company of American Express Canada Credit Corporation. Mr. Yowan holds a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the College of William & Mary.
