Ms. Theresa Thompson has been President of Sterling Publishing at Barnes & Noble, Inc. since October 2016. Ms. Thompson served as Executive Vice President of Sterling Publishing at Barnes & Noble, Inc. since March 2012 until October 2016. Ms. Thompson is responsible for the management of the company, both creatively and operationally and oversees many areas of the business, including operations, finance, book production and manufacturing. She also manages and directs Barnes & Noble's Bargain book business, responsible for the development, procurement and production of the books and for the proprietary product. Ms. Thompson first joined Barnes & Noble in 2003, where she was responsible for Audio business. In 2008, she was promoted to Vice President, Newsstand and in July 2011, her responsibilities expanded to include Bargain. Prior to Barnes & Noble, she held a variety of merchandising positions at both Macy's and Saks. Ms. Thompson has a B.A. in Economics from New York University.
