Q&A With Blue Shield of California Employees

Asked to all employees at Blue Shield of California

  • Management needs to put themselves on the floor once in a while. Quit setting expectations that are completely unrealistic. They set staffing, production and quality without even knowing how to do the job then punish front line staff for not meeting those goals.

  • Make management understand that cutting jobs and sending overseas, then being greatly understaffed during peak times (while fixing the overseas vendor errors at the same time) makes for a very unhappy place to work

  • Get rid of BSC's marketing leadership. Poisonous.

  • It really depends on what department you are in, but overall there is very little work life balance. Oh they preach it but they don't practice it. They offer PTO but then punish you for asking to take it

  • Depends on the department. Overall the company "strives" for work life balance, but it doesn't happen that often. They say they want you to take vacations, be with your family, take care of your health, etc.....but they don't actually care and will push to get every drop of energy from you

  • Better than most companies
