What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Bon-Ton?
That as a company they do not care about customer service. All they care about was getting credit cards. They would allow associates to insult customers and fellow associates as long as they were getting lots of credit cards.

Up to your prospective manager. Phone interview, then in person. Manager and DVP or VP conduct interviews.
What part of Bon-Ton's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Ecommerce is growing, stores are dying.
What do people at Bon-Ton think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Bill is in cut mode and wants more work from less people. For sure a hard ass.
Does Bon-Ton have any remote positions?
Very few, but most IT can work from home two days a week.
How does Bon-Ton make decisions around promotions?
You’ll get promoted when they run off people above you, which happens a lot.
How's the vacation policy at Bon-Ton?
2 weeks for your first three year, three weeks from years 4-15. Discretion of manager on when you can take it.
How's the work life balance at Bon-Ton?
It all depends on your manager. My manager would let us make up any overtime from oncall or projects. Most wont. IT is very thin here, so expect a lot of last minute overtime. October - January expect to work 60+ hours in most groups. Rest of the year 45+. 24/7 on call, some departments have rotation, most don’t.
