If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Dillard's?

I would just burn all the stores to the ground.
You can't, you'd have to change the entire company way of existence.

How's the vacation policy at Dillard's?
You get vacation time but you can only use it during certain months. You have to request it 4 months in advance and have it approved. It will be denied if anyone else is taking vacation during that time.
You starter in vacation 6 months after you are hired. The vacation you a krill is one hour per 40 hours worked. After this 6 months when you start accruing vacation it won't be able to be used until the next year.
It's not very generous.

How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Dillard's?
It’s the only time management will be nice to you. After that, they’ll stab you in the back.

Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Dillard's?
Store ops manager and floor manager.
I met with an assistant manager first. Second interview was with the operations manger. I had an interview 3 days after applying. Second interview was about a week later. You may or may not be hired after your second. If the store manager doesn't come to see you after the second they probably ate not interested. Your interview is being listened to by the manager as it is going on.

It's tough but laid back.
What should I wear for an interview at Dillard's?
Work attire.
Don't bother. Working for dillards is the worst desicion a person could ever make. If you are serious about it though. Business formal. Nice slacks, a blouse, blazer if you have one and heels.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at Dillard's?
Go find somewhere else.
Have experience in retail. Dress nice. Sit tall. Try to make e erything a positive.

How's the work pace at Dillard's?
Slow and you feel trapped in limbo.
It varies. Some days you are so bored. Some days you don't know where your mind went and can't remember which customer you have where.
How much and how often do raises happen at Dillard's?
Never unless you obtain the ridiculously high raise goal they set. After you get the 25 cent raise your sales goals go up even more and things become more stressful.
You have to earn it. It depe Dr on You I. If you sell over your standard for 9 months you get a raise. The raise is dependant on the percentage of over goal.
How challenged are you at Dillard's?
Very. That place is a hell hole. Every moment you fear for your job.
I've been through many departments and roles. I get challenged a lot. Not just by demand but by selling standards.
What unique perks and benefits does Dillard's provide?
Hahahaha. You get 25% off merchandise.
First 2 weeks I believe is 50% off of 1 or 2 of everything. As In you can buy 2... shirts, bottoms, mascara, all make up really, shoes e ct After I think 3 months (at the latest) you get your employee discount card 25% could be credit or not 6th months you start earning vacation for next year and paid holidays and birthday. If you're full time you get health benefits and 401k. Some get commission,some don't depends.
What's the office layout like at Dillard's?
You won't go in there. Unless youryou're in trouble.
It depends store to store I guess? Not sure.
How much diversity is there among employees at Dillard's?
Everyone hates each other.
The store I am at is extremely diverse.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Dillard's?
How dead it would make me feel inside. Trust me. Everyone including the managers hate their jobs there.
Everything was explained to me clearly. I do wish I would have known. The amount of stress and effort I would be exerting. Of course they wouldn't tell you that in an interview.
How's the morale at Dillard's?
Sell and we like you. Be a good employee and provide 5 star service even though it provides no sales and you are booted. Seriously don't work there.
Customers come before everything. You see someone you drop what you are doing and greet them. Again, your clients are everything. Everyone is friendly for the most part. Beware though there are some sharks especially if you are in shoes or cosmetics.
How does Dillard's make decisions around promotions?
How hard you work. How easy it is for you to talk to management. That you were on top of your game.
It's all done behind closed doors and I have no idea what the process is based on besides posting increases on your numbers.
